Still Hanging In There

It's been a long while since I posted, it's been too long since I've posted in fact and that's been for a couple of very good reasons. I'm still not one hundred percent ready to write yet, it may take quite a long while in fact to be honest with you but I'm posting here so that you all know that I am okay and that I miss writing.

I still try to comment on as many blogs as possible, I actually believe there's certain blogs I haven't missed a comment under since I stopped writing my own posts. I've always outright admitted that I view commenting under my favourite blogs as being more important than writing my own blog posts and that hasn't changed one bit although like I say I do miss writing.

The main reason behind my lack of writing is that I've been very very ill recently. I can't really elaborate further than that because quite frankly I don't know what's wrong with me myself although a recent diagnosis put upon me after a less than ten minute long appointment was that I have vertigo. Whether that's true or not that it's vertigo, the fact that it's been completely ignored that I've got vertigo and been ill in so many different ways recently due to having an extremely weak immune system is what bothers me so I'm in a real fight to get well soon.

Work was busy for a while which of course factored into how little I've been able to write but for the last two or three weeks my work has been pretty minimal because I just haven't been well enough to go in. It's pretty worrying because we're opening up this temporary Christmas shop in a local shopping mall next week and there's lots of money to be earned from working there full time, if I can only get well enough. I hope all my readers are okay and are having a better time of it recently than I've had, I love you all.

Matthew

  2. Focus on getting better, then worry about work! Your health is always the most important thing.
It's so good to hear from you again - I've appreciated all of your comments on my blog, even though you're not writing at the minute.
I hope you feel better soon! :)

  6. Glad you're still around, even if you're not entirely ok. :/

As a fellow vertigo sufferer, I sympathize. I've had many days where it's so bad that I'm nauseous and dizzy and headachy and can't really do anything but lay in bed or lay on the couch. And the best my doctor can give me is xanax or valium because as he says there aren't really any medications to fix it, the best they can do is make you not care.

Hang in there, take your vitamins and maybe some orange juice and get lots of rest. I hope you get better soon!
    xoxo

  7. Oh Matthew, I'm so sorry you haven't been well. Vertigo is awful. My late husband had bouts of it and it wasn't fun. Until you know for certain what it is, it's hard to treat. Just try to take it easy and write when you can. Sending healing energies your way!!

  13. welcome back sir!

glad to see you're keeping busy and, well, not sure what you can do to fight vertigo but keep thinking healthy/positive thoughts.

Don't fret about the blogging sabbatical. It does some good to take time away from the keyboard and gather thoughts sometimes.

  17. I'm glad to see you posting again, though not quite under the ideal circumstances. I had my mystery illness earlier this year, so I know how that goes. Not knowing what you have is the worst part, and it sucks that doctors think they know the answer after spending just 5-10 minutes with you. I hope you get it solved and I certainly hope you feel better!

  25. I was glad when I saw your post, but then kind of sad when I read it. I hope for your rapid recovery to normal health and normal productivity. This is not a wish for you complete normalcy as I like who you are and the way you express yourself.

I'm honored to be among those where you leave regular comments. I look for your comment every day my post goes up. You are definitely one of my favorite commenters--you have a way of lifting my spirits.

Get better so you can get back to working and writing and all your other life things. You have a unique voice in the blogging world.

  26. So sorry to read that you are feeling 'bleurgh' ... if it is vertigo I really do sympathise as my dad has had bouts of it over the years and really has felt pretty rough. BUT, I would get back to the docs and get a second opinion and certainly some help to try and sort it out.
I have got to echo Arlee Bird's comment ... I too really do appreciate the fact that you always take the time to comment on my blog and you really do have a unique voice. I have certainly missed your posts - I don't always comment but I do always read.
Take care of yourself and please get some help. As soon as you can, get back to work, earn some extra money and treat yourself to something nice - you deserve it.

  27. Matthew. I can always count on a comment from you. Stupidly for some reason it is making me cry just writing this. WTF is that about? You touch my heart. Maybe it's the "mother/grandma" in me but I wish I could be with you to be your "constant". I care so much about you. Know that. Please know that.

  28. Matthew, I'm new here and sad to hear I've missed the majority of your writing. I know what it's like to deal with extreme health challenges and how long term they can take a toll, but keep your chin up, eh? Look for the good things each day, and remember you've got a loving blog community of people offering prayers and positive thoughts on your behalf. Plus one today. =)
